Common use of Review by the Board of Education Clause in Contracts

Review by the Board of Education. a. Within five (5) working days of the receipt of the Superintendent’s decision, the grievant submits a written request to the Board for a review of the decision, stating the alleged violation and his/her disagreement with the Superintendent’s decision. The Board will review all records of the proceedings and may confer with the parties involved. Such conferences shall be informal and in closed session. The Board may establish a committee of the Board to carry out the provisions of this Section. b. The Association shall be notified in writing of the appeal and given an opportunity to represent the employee or to present a written statement to the Board’s next regularly scheduled meeting, with notice at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to said meeting. c. The Board shall render a decision, in writing, within thirty (30) calendar days after the above Board meeting.
