Roommate Agreements Sample Clauses

Roommate Agreements. In an effort to encourage students who live at USA take ownership and responsibility for their living community, Residence Life incorporates Roommate Agreements as a foundation for successful roommate partnerships. A Roommate Agreement is a document that room, suite, or apartment members negotiate together at the beginning of each year. This tool is intended to promote negotiation and consensus about matters pertaining to living as roommates including, but not limited to: • Respect of personal space and property • Guests and visitation • Cleanliness and ‘chores’ • Study needs • Socialization Keep in mind that all decisions must be consistent with the behavioral standards indicated in the Residence Education Handbook, the Residence Hall Contract, and the Code of Student Conduct. How this process works: As a room or apartment, residents convene and using the Roommate Agreement provided in the Community Desk/Office or by their Resident Assistant, develop a set of value-based criteria by which each person in the apartment will agree to live. Additionally, the Roommate Agreement can be revisited at any time to allow for adjustments and changes. As each member of the apartment/room/suite will sign the Roommate Agreement, each member will be held accountable for the contents of the document they had part in developing.

Roommate Agreements. All first-year students are required to have a completed roommate agreement on file in their assigned community. At opening, your Community Advisor will discuss the importance of this document and the timeline for this document's completion. Upper‐division students are not required to have one of these on file but are strongly encouraged to have one and may be required to have one if a conflict arises in the room/suite/apartment.
Roommate Agreements. Residents in non-family housing agree that the dwelling identified on the last page of this Agreement as “Premises” will be occupied by only the number and gender of students assigned by MBTS. MBTS reserves the right to assign a maximum of two occupants per room. Any exceptions must be approved 30 days in advance, in writing, by the Administration by completing the Housing Exception request found on the housing page of the MBTS website. All exception requests must include the policy for which exemption is being requested and an explanation of why the policy places an unique burden on this Resident. It is incumbent on the Resident to follow up with the Housing Office to ensure any requested exception has been approved; if the exception has not been approved, the policy remains in force with the Resident.
