SAFETY AND PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. 17.01 The Employer shall provide a safe workplace as prescribed by the Occupational Health & Safety Act and shall only use safety devices which have been approved under the Occupational Health & Safety Act. 17.02 The employees must follow all Safety Rules prescribed by the Employer as a condition of employment. Failure to do so will result in discipline up to, and including, termination of employment. 17.03 The employees must wear all protective safety devices required by the Employer. 17.04 Each employee must wear industrial safety boots at all times while on the construction site. 17.05 The Employer will provide one (1) hard hat and one (1) pair of gloves for each employee upon hire. The Employer will replace said items upon presentation of the worn out items. 17.06 The Employer will provide all other required personal protective equipment deemed necessary to protect the health and safety of the employees. This will include, but not be limited to: • Hearing protection • Safety glasses & goggles (non-prescription only) • Face xxxxxxx • Hot gloves & aprons • Particulate masks • Breathing apparatus • Fall arrest equipment • Rubberized safety boots Such equipment shall remain the property of the Employer and employees are responsible for their care and for advising supervisors of any defects. 17.07 For each employee that has completed one (1) year of employment, the Employer will provide a clothing allowance of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per year for the purchase of work apparel (i.e. work boots, coveralls). This clothing allowance will be paid upon presentation of receipt for the purchased goods. 17.08 Where the company is required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act to have a certified employee Health and Safety Representative on site, the Employer agrees to pay the acting Representative a one dollar ($1.00) per hour premium in addition to his regular rate of pay. Should the designated representative also be a xxxxxxx, the combined premium shall be limited to one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour.

Safety Harness Electrician's and lineworker's protective equipment • Rubberized safety boots Such equipment shall remain as described in items 4., 5., 7., and 9. above, while in the property of the Employer Corporation's custody, will be properly cared for and employees are responsible for their care and for advising supervisors of any defectswhere appropriate, tested as required. 17.07 For (c) Following the completion of their probationary period, permanent employees who are required to wear safety footwear shall be paid a subsidy of $180.00 payable in October of each employee that has completed one (1) year of employmentyear, the Employer will provide a clothing allowance of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per year for towards the purchase of Corporation approved safety footwear. (d) Employees are required to provide suitable clothing necessary for the performance of their regular duties. Extra protective clothing necessary for temporary assignments outside regular duties and work apparel (i.e. work boots, coveralls). This clothing allowance for use on infrequent assignments causing extreme wear and tear will be paid upon presentation of receipt for loaned by the purchased goodsCorporation. 17.08 Where (e) Employees who in the company is required performance of their duties accidently damage or break their prescription glasses shall have same repaired or replaced by the Occupational Health Corporation. (f) Following the completion of their probationary period, permanent employees, with the exception of Fire and Safety Act Security Officers, Painters, Janitors, and Rewinder/Rewedgers, and employees who receive Corporation issue snowmobile suits who are required to have a certified employee Health and Safety Representative on site, work out of doors during the Employer agrees to pay the acting Representative a one dollar winter months ($1.00October - April) per hour premium in addition to his regular rate of pay. Should the designated representative also be a xxxxxxx, the combined premium shall be limited paid a winter clothing subsidy of $175.00 payable in October of each year towards the purchase of such clothing. (c) Following the completion of their probationary period, permanent employees who are required to wear safety footwear shall be paid a subsidy of $240.00 payable in October of each year towards the purchase of Corporation approved safety footwear. Permanent employees in the Line Shop who are required to wear climbing safety footwear shall be paid an additional subsidy of $160.00 payable in October of each year. (d) Employees are required to provide suitable clothing necessary for the performance of their regular duties. This clothing allowance will be paid upon presentation of receipt for the purchased goods. 17.08 Where the company is required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act to have a certified employee Health and Safety Representative on site, the Employer agrees to pay the acting Representative a one dollar ($1.00) per hour premium in addition to his regular rate of pay. SAFETY AND PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. 17.01 15.01 All employees shall wear safety hats purchased at their own expense. 15.02 The Employer shall provide each line employee past probation with seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00) safety clothing and boot spending account each year.
