Safety Protests. When an employee is required by a supervisor to work under a condition which the employee regards as a violation of a safety rule, the employee shall have the right to protest; if ordered by the supervisor to perform the work involved the employee shall have the right to perform the work under protest and refer the matter to the Safety Committee for consideration and recommendation. However, no employee shall be required to take out any vehicle which has already been written up as being not in safe operating condition or not equipped with the safety appliances prescribed by law before such vehicle is checked and released by a Maintenance Supervisor in writing.
