Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). EMT’s when performing as a member of the dive team as tender or technician will receive their applicable rate plus one dollar ($1.00) per hr.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). SECTION 1.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Employees who are state licensed as an EMT shall receive an allowance of $250 the last pay in July and the last pay in January for each full month the license is valid. The July payment will cover the months of January through June and the January payment will cover the months of July through December. Any overpayment will be deducted from the first possible subsequent paycheck. Employees who are receiving this allowance are required to respond during medical emergencies, consistent with their level of training.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). EMT certification is a condition of employment and part of the job classification, however the City is responsible to make sure the EMT certification is renewed for each employee. The City will provide on-site training at its expense; however, for offsite training the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, or their respected designee approval is need.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Retesting:  If you are unsuccessful in one (1), two (2) or three (3) stations you will need to be re-tested on only the skills that you did not pass. This re-test may be offered on the same day, the decision for re- testing is at the discretion of the exam coordinator.  If you are unsuccessful in 4 or more skill stations you will be required to re-test all 7 stations. This will not be completed on the same day. This would be considered exam attempt one (1). Total exam attempts are six (6) and they must be completed within two (2) years of successful completion of the certification class. After three (3) failed exam attempts, the student must complete one of the following to become eligible:

All employees will comply with all management directives to allow re- certification at the earliest opportunity.

The City will continue to provide training.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). 1. All bargaining unit members, excluding Fire Recruits, who are EMT-certified will receive an EMT premium of 8.5 percent of employee’s base pay. Effective January 1, 2022, EMT pay will be ten percent of employee’s base wage. 2. The City will reimburse unit members, excluding Fire Recruits, for EMT re- certification upon receipt of documentation. 3. The City will provide at least 24 hours of compensated continuing education (CE) every two years to all Department personnel, who are certified EMTs, in order to maintain skill proficiency and State/County EMT certification.

The City will continue to provide training. 5.3.2 Effective October 7, 2018, the 3% of top step firefighter EMT pay that all employees represented by IAFF who qualify for certification by Santa Xxxxx County as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT NA or EMT D Non Ambulance or Defibrillation) receive will be rolled into base pay as a flat dollar amount in recognition of the obligation to maintain certification as an EMT. This may result in the differential between certain steps in classifications represented by IAFF being slightly less than approximately five percent (5%). Employees must maintain their EMT certification as a condition of continued employment. There shall be no additional compensation for the maintenance of their EMT certification.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Firefighters and Fire Captains shall maintain certification as EMT. The base salary range as indicated in Appendix A-1 is stipulated to include a 3.5% differential for EMT certification. Fire Inspectors have the option to not maintain certification as an EMT. If a Fire Inspector chooses not to maintain an EMT, the employee will not be eligible to receive the 3.5% salary differential. If a Fire Inspector chooses to maintain an EMT, the employee will receive the 3.5% and will be eligible for all benefits given to other department EMTs. If choosing not to maintain EMT, Fire Inspectors must maintain CPR, First Aid and AED certifications.
