Salary Placement. Entry-level placement on the salary schedule shall be at the lowest step of the schedule for the classification or at the hourly rate established for the classification, unless the District authorizes hiring at a higher rate.
Salary Placement. Negotiated and approved reclassification requests shall normally take effect July 1 of the year received.
Salary Placement. Employees shall be placed and moved on the salary schedule in accordance with the following provisions.
A. Placement on the Salary Schedule
1. Initial placement on the salary schedule will be determined by Human Resources in accordance with job description and classification, experience factors, demonstrated ability, and current salary.
2. The conditions or factors for placement on the salary schedule will be explained to employees before hiring and assignment.
3. An employee with no related work experience shall be placed on the initial step of the appropriate range of the current salary schedule. An employee with prior school district/college experience will be granted recognition for that experience on the salary schedule.
4. Former bargaining unit employees who return to the bargaining unit within two (2) years shall maintain their step on the salary schedule, sick leave, vacation, seniority, and certificate credit.
B. Movement and Salary Improvement
1. Employees who have worked more than sixty (60) consecutively scheduled work days in a contract year and remain employed immediately following the contract year will be considered eligible for incremental movement on the salary schedule.
Salary Placement. A. Salary placement for all teachers shall be in accordance with their education, teaching experience, and military service.
B. When placing teachers, the Board shall recognize up to 10 years of experience (retire- rehire candidates shall fall under the retire-rehire stipulations) and up to five (5) years of military service. This provision is effective with the ratification of this Contract, and shall be of no effect for anyone previously or currently employed.
C. Salary adjustments for additional training will be made for the full year upon presentation of an official college transcript or other official documentation from the college or university to the Superintendent by September 15 of any year. A half year adjustment shall occur upon presentation of an official college transcript or other official documentation from the college or university to the Superintendent by February 10 of any year.
D. For the purpose of this Article, teaching service shall be defined as service as a teacher certified pursuant to Section 3319.22, of the Revised Code, or in a public school regardless of the training level. Members employed by the Board on or before June 4, 1986, shall be exempt from the provisions of this sub-section.
Salary Placement. Negotiated and approved salary adjustments shall take effect July 1 of the year received.
Salary Placement. New employees will be placed on the appropriate range of the salary schedule and given one step credit for each two (2) years or major fraction thereof for related work experience to a maximum of eight (8) years or four (4) steps. The amount of past experience that is recognized will depend on the recency of such prior experience and its applicability to the position. If any new employee is placed at step five (5) or above, the District shall inform the Union and be available to discuss the reason for such placement.
Salary Placement. An employee new to the District shall be placed on the Salary Schedule using the following criteria:
a. New employees shall receive actual credit for licensed teaching experience, with each year worth one (1) step on the schedule. One-time bonuses or additional steps may be offered for hard to fill positions, at the discretion of the superintendent.
b. Teaching experience shall be cumulative and all half-time or more experience for a half year or more shall be considered a full year of experience for initial salary placement.
c. Bargaining unit members hired as a School Psychologist or (District Proposal 2-08-24) (TA 2/15/24) Speech and Language Pathologist shall be placed on the BA +135/MA + 45 column and at the appropriate step for their career experience.
Salary Placement. When an employee is promoted, he/she shall be 8 assigned to the step in the new range which gives him/her an increment of at 9 least 5% above his/her present salary within the current salary schedule 10 except that the employee may be placed on the last step of the appropriate 11 range if that is the maximum allowable for that class. Such placement may 12 result in less than a 5% raise. 13
Salary Placement. The President of the Association will be notified prior to the posting of any new position that would come under the Association Agreement, as indicated in Section 1.1. The proposed salary as recommended by the College will be reviewed by the Association for comparative analysis with any similar positions already established in the unit. Final determination of salary placement rests with the office of the President, and will be in accordance with Section 1.5.2.
Salary Placement. 18.3.3.1 When a position or classification of positions is reclassified to a higher salary range, the incumbent Unit Member(s) will remain on the same step and advance to the new assigned range. The Unit Member’s anniversary date will remain the same.
18.3.3.2 When a position or classification of positions is classified to a lower salary range, the Unit Member(s) may elect to exercise bumping rights under the layoff and reemployment Article of this Agreement, or remain in the position, in which case the Unit Member’s salary will be “Y- rated”. The Unit Member’s salary will not be decreased, but will be fixed at the present salary amount until the Unit Member’s anniversary step, longevity step, or negotiated salary increase (based on the lower range) exceeds the “Y-rated” salary. If the classification to a lower range is effective simultaneously with the Unit Member’s anniversary step, longevity step, or negotiated salary increase, the Unit Member will receive this increase based on the Unit Member’s previous range and then the salary will be fixed as provided above.
18.3.3.3 Where the District proposes to classify the position of an incumbent Unit Member to a lower salary range, the District will meet with CSEA to negotiate the proposal.
