Salary Protection on Dow. nw ard Reclassification When a posit ion has been reclassif ied dow nw ard the employee (present incumbent only) in the reclassif ied posit ion w ill be f it xxx into the new classification (at a level not less than the employee’ s current earnings) provided the employee’ s earnings do not exceed the maximum of the salary for the new classification. In this circumstance, the employee’ s increment date w ill not change and the employee shall receive the negotiated increases as w ell. Should the employee’ s salary be in excess of the salary for the new classif ication such salary w ill be frozen as of the date of the reclassif ication save and except any increases negotiated by the Parties.
