School Calendars. School calendars negotiated will be subject to renegotiation if and when either party to this agreement determines the calendars to be in error. Should either party make such a determination, the moving party must advise the other party in writing, defining the error(s) and requesting that renegotiation of the calendar(s) be initiated. Negotiations must begin within ten (10) workdays following receipt of the written notification. Both parties agree that should the school district initiate a pilot calendar that differs from the traditional school calendar (four quarters, nine weeks each), a separate and appropriate school calendar will be negotiated beginning ten (10) days following notification by the School Board. By mutual agreement, any or all of these calendars may be renegotiated. DTU input will be sought prior to the implementation of any modified school year program. Any item in such a program which is a change that impacts school calendars, wages, hours, terms and conditions of employment of any employee(s) shall be negotiated prior to implementation. Employees shall participate in establishing school calendars and shall be provided with information specifically identifying the work year for each employee.
School Calendars. A. The Board will provide at least two (2) half days each school year for staff development, which will be jointly planned by the Administration and the Association. If mutually agreed to, two (2) half days may be combined, thus having 180 student days.
B. It is recognized by the parties that, as professionals, teachers work many hours in addition to the time spent in student contact or at school. In order to recognize such time, fourteen
School Calendars. Labor/management committees will discuss school calendars for institution teachers including their duration and their starting and ending dates.
School Calendars. The Parties agree to negotiate the calendar by April 15 of each year. Those calendars become a part of this Agreement as shown in Appendix A. The scheduled hours per day shall be such to ensure that the state required minimum hours are met.
School Calendars. Calendar proposals for K-12 shall be generated by a district committee consisting of representatives of certified staff, non-certified staff, administration, school board, parents, and a transportation committee member. The results of a recent parent calendar preference survey may be provided to the committee before it begins deliberation. The committee shall begin its deliberation by November 1st. At the meeting in which the final calendar options are determined, a vote will be taken reflecting the committee members’ approval or disapproval of these final options. All members present shall initial a tally of this vote. This tally will be presented to the Board. All certified and non-certified district staff working under the calendar shall vote on calendar options. The board shall then study and consider the calendar with the majority of votes before establishing the yearly calendar. The board will finalize a calendar at its March meeting. Legislative initiatives or unusual circumstances which could alter the calendar would cause the Calendar Committee to open discussion to change the calendar. The calendar for the elementary and secondary schools of the district for the 2019-2020 school year appears in Appendix B.
1. An additional conference day shall be granted to kindergarten teachers who have more than 30 pupils in any one day. When the additional conference day is held, a substitute shall be employed.
School Calendars. The school calendar for each year of this agreement will be agreed upon and outlined in Appendix A (based on applicable law).

School Calendars. The school calendar shall be consistent with all other provisions of the Agreement.
School Calendars. The matter of the school calendar for each contract year shall be a matter of discussion between bargaining unit members and appropriate school administrators. The school administrators will meet with CSEA-designated bargaining unit members of the faculty prior to the conclusion of the school year and prior to the preparation of the school calendar. The administrators will give consideration to the recommendations made by unit members, but reserve the right to make such decisions as deemed necessary regarding such matters. The school calendars for positions with community-based or non- classroom assignments may he at variance with the facility school calendar in order to meet program needs.
School Calendars. 12.1.2.1 The school calendars set forth below in this article are based on the state mandate for required number of days and/or hours. To insure provision of the required days/hours of student instruction, days/hours of student instruction which have been canceled will be rescheduled and the necessary modifications to the school calendar will be made by the Board.
12.1.2.2 In the event that pupil instructional days have been canceled due to conditions not within the control of the Board, then instructional days shall be rescheduled to insure provision of the required days/hours. In order to make up canceled days, instructional days will be added to the school calendar without additional compensation to teachers or expense to the Board to insure provision of the required instructional days.
12.1.2.3 The bargained school calendar for each school year, will be the controlling document outlining the number of teacher work, and instructional days.
