Common use of Scope and Purpose Clause in Contracts

Scope and Purpose. This Membership Agreement between voluntary and community sector partners including social enterprises was developed by 15 founder members. Current members are listed in Appendix One. This Agreement provides a framework for Alliance members to work collaboratively together and with other partners. It may be modified at any time by agreement of a simple majority of members. a) They are independently constituted community, voluntary or social enterprise organisations; b) They work to support beneficiaries and communities living across the county of East Sussex; c) They are willing to be an active participant in partnership activities of the Alliance and work with the Alliance agreed Principles of Collaborative working, Accountability and Generous Leadership. The Alliance Chair or Vice-Chair will inform existing members of any new applications for membership received. Decisions to accept new members will be made by Alliance members based on the new application meeting all stated criteria for membership with a simple majority agreement of members at the meeting (in person or by proxy) following receipt of the application.
