When the number of sections in a department reaches eighty (80), that Department Head shall be released from teaching duties of a .20 FTE for the purpose of planning and coordinating department functions. When the number of special education sections at a secondary school reaches fifteen (15), the special education department chair shall be scheduled for a release period (additional to the employee’s individual planning period).
