Secondments for Full Time Continuing Employees. a) A Secondment occurs when an Employee has accepted the full duties of another position for a period of not less than twenty (20) consecutive Days to a maximum of twenty-four (24) months. All Secondments require Manager approval. No reasonable requests shall be denied unless it seriously impacts the operational requirements of the Unit. b) Where an Employee has accepted a Secondment, they will be guaranteed a return to their home position at the conclusion of the Secondment if their home position still exists. If the home position no longer exists, the Employee shall be subject to the layoff/recall provisions as set out in Article 23. c) For the duration of the Secondment, pension, benefit and vacation entitlements will continue as per the Employee’s home position.
