Section 10.1.2.2. 26 In the event of a necessary reduction in the work force, the District shall first lay off 27 probationary employees, the least senior employee by date of hire. The only exceptions to 28 seniority shall be in the case of employees who have specialized skills that no senior employees 30 change the duties of the position from which an employee was laid off is such change of duties 31 will adversely impact the employee’s ability to be recalled to that position, unless the District 32 and Association agree change is required to meet student needs. Employees losing their job 33 because of reduction in force shall be placed on a re-employment list maintained in the 34 District’s Human Resources Department. In no case shall a new employee be employed by the 35 district while there are laid off employees who are qualified for a vacancy or newly created 36 position.
