Securing Controlled Substances and Paraphernalia. Whenever a school employee seizes or comes upon any substance believed to be a controlled dangerous substance or drug paraphernalia, school officials must immediately advise the (local law enforcement agency having patrol jurisdiction) and must secure the substance or item pending the response by (law enforcement agency) to retrieve and take custody of the substance or paraphernalia, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:16-6.2(b)8 and 6.4.
