Common use of Service-Time Credit Clause in Contracts

Service-Time Credit. If an employee serves on extended military duty for five (5) years or less and returns to City service, there is no break in City service time for purposes of vesting or accruing retirement benefits, and when the employee returns to City service, the City is required to make any contributions on behalf of the employee’s retirement benefits that the City would have made if the employee had not been absent for extended military duty.
