Short-Notice Request for Cover. A short-notice request for cover occurs when an employee is asked to return to work after completing the day’s work or duty/shift and having left the place of employment and before returning to duty. Attendance to return to work in this circumstance is voluntary. Work will be paid for a minimum of three hours and on a gate to gate basis.
