Soils and Foundation Investigations. The CITY may authorize ENGINEER to direct an approved Testing Laboratory to perform subsurface borings and soils investigations for the PROJECT, which shall be reported in the format and detail required by the City Engineer for the City of Wichita. The Testing Laboratory shall be responsible for the accuracy and compe- tence of their work. The ENGINEER'S contract with the Testing Laboratory shall provide that the Testing Laboratory is responsible to the City for the accuracy and competence of their work. The cost of soils and boring investigations shall be passed directly to the City of Wi- chita if not included in the ENGINEER'S fee estimate.
