Common use of SPECIALIZED HEALTH CARE PROVISIONS Clause in Contracts

SPECIALIZED HEALTH CARE PROVISIONS. A. Bargaining unit members (other than nurses) may volunteer to serve as custodians of medication and/or administer medication in accordance with state law and Board policy. If no bargaining unit members volunteer to serve as custodians of medication or administer medication and the building principal or teacher in charge (person in charge when building principal is not available) is not available, administration may assign these duties. Employees who volunteer to serve as or are assigned to be custodians of medication and/or to administer medication shall be offered training as-needed. B. A nurse or healthcare provider will attend a school field trip that involves a student with a complicated health care plan. C. Staff training in CPR, AED, and First Aid-Choking shall be offered free of charge to members at regular intervals consistent with state law and/or Board policy. D. This article shall not apply to bargaining unit members who are fulfilling their supplemental duties/contract responsibilities.
