SPIRIT & INTENT. The spirit and intention of this Agreement is to maintain good and amicable relations between the Company and all of its employees covered by this Agreement, so that the solution of all matters pertaining to conditions of employment may be arrived at by consultation and agreement between the parties hereto, and this Agreement is in no sense to be taken as a discouragement to direct negotiations where a solution can be reached by such means without having recourse to the bargaining procedure hereinafter provided.
