STATUTORY PREGNANCY LEAVE. a) Upon application, in writing, an employee who is pregnant and who is employed by the Board immediately preceding the estimated day of delivery, shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay of at least seventeen (17 weeks). b) The Board shall not terminate the employment of or lay-off any employee for accessing such leave. Employees are subject to termination or lay-off as per Article 14 – Layoff and Recall.
