Supervision Time. For the purposes of this Article, "supervision time" means scheduled student-contact hours in a laboratory or other related area for the purpose of student direction or demonstration.

Supervision Time. (a) Supervision time shall be defined as the time teachers are assigned to supervise students outside of the three hundred (300) minutes instructional day. The instructional day shall be three hundred (300) minutes commencing with the start of opening exercises or the start of instruction, whichever comes first, and ending with the students’ dismissal from school for the day exclusive of lunch, nutrition breaks, and recess break(s). (b) Supervisory duties include assigned duties such as yard duty, hall duty, bus duty, lunchroom duty, and any other scheduled supervisory duties at any of the following times: (i) Before the beginning of opening exercises in the morning or the beginning of instruction, whichever comes first. (ii) During lunch, nutrition, or recess breaks. (iii) After school following the dismissal of students and beyond the three hundred (300) minute instructional day. (c) Provided that student safety is protected, and subject to there being no additional cost to the Board or the Government, the Board shall implement the following provisions respecting supervision schedules: (i) effective September 1, 2005, make every reasonable effort to limit the supervision time assigned to teachers to one-hundred (100) minutes for each period of five (5) instructional days; (ii) effective September 1, 2006, limit the supervision time assigned to teachers to one-hundred (100) minutes for each period of five (5) instructional days; (iii) effective September 1, 2006, make every reasonable effort to limit the supervision time assigned to teachers to eighty (80) minutes for each period of five (5) instructional days; and (iv) No teacher shall be required to perform supervision duties in excess of the amount of supervision duties that the teacher was required to perform as of March 1, 2005 unless the teacher’s assignment or worksite is modified or changed. In the event of such modification or change, the teacher’s supervision time shall be equal to the supervision time required of other teachers in the same school who perform equivalent assignments. If there is no such modification or change, each teacher shall continue to be required to perform the same amount of supervision duties as performed as at March 1, 2005 so long as the amount of such supervision time is less than the amount of supervision time otherwise provided for in this agreement. Supervision Time. For the purpose of the supervision provisions of the collective agreement, supervision time shall be defined as the time a teacher is assigned to supervise students outside the Instructional School Day as defined in 15.06. Unless specifically assigned, teachers shall not be required to perform supervisory duties outside of the Instructional School Day as defined in 15.06. For greater certainty, supervisory duties include assigned duties such as yard duty, hall duty, bus duty, lunchroom duty and other assigned duties undertaken before the beginning of opening exercises in the morning, before the commencement of classes following the lunch interval, during recesses or after the Instructional School Day. (a) No teacher shall be required to perform supervision duties in excess of the amount of supervision duties that the teacher was required to perform during the 2008-2009 school year, unless the teacher's assignment or worksite is modified or changed. In the event of such modification or change, the teacher's supervision time shall be equal to the supervision time required of other teachers in the same school who perform equivalent assignments. If there is no such modification or change, each teacher shall continue to be required to perform the same amount of supervision duties as performed during the 2008-2009 school year, so long as the amount of such supervision time is less than the amount of supervision time otherwise provided for in this agreement. (b) Teachers on part-time assignment shall only be required to perform a prorated amount of supervision time in accordance with their teaching assignment. (c) Effective on the date of ratification, the maxima of supervision minutes for elementary teachers will be 80 minutes within each period of five instructional days. Scheduled supervision duties include, but are not limited to, yard duty, hall duty, bus duty and lunchroom duty. (d) The Board shall make every reasonable effort to allocate supervision duties fairly and equitably.
Supervision Time. 22.1 Each teacher shall not be assigned more than an average of thirty (30) minutes of supervision per week, pro-rated for part-time teachers. 22.2 Each teacher shall receive a minimum of thirty (30) consecutive minutes lunch break per day. 22.3 No teacher shall be required to perform routine or scheduled supervision duties during the school's noon intermission. 22.4 Supervision schedules should be reviewed on a bi-monthly basis to ensure effectiveness with regard to teacher preferences and the deployment of supervisory assistants.

The Principal shall consult with the teachers prior to finalizing the Supervision Schedule. The Supervision Schedule shall be available on the first day of school in September. The Parties recognize that changes to the Supervision Schedule may be made for operational reasons.

The implementation of a balanced day does not constitute a modification in assignment or workplace for these purposes. 3) Effective on May 1, 2009, the maxima of supervision minutes for elementary teachers will be eighty (80) minutes within each period of five instructional days. Scheduled supervision duties include, but are not limited to yard duty, hall duty, bus duty and lunchroom duty. 4) Supervision time for teachers in less than full-time assignments shall be pro- rated.
Supervision Time a) Effective on the Monday following ratification, the maxima of supervision minutes for elementary Teachers will be 80 minutes within each period of five instructional days. Scheduled supervision duties include, but are not limited to, yard duty, hall duty, bus duty and lunchroom duty. b) Notwithstanding a) above, the parties agree that existing practices or provisions respecting supervision time that provided a greater benefit in schools as at March 1, 2005, will be maintained, except to the extent the school needs change due to factors beyond the control of the school. c) Teachers on part-time assignment shall only be required to perform a prorated amount of supervision time in accordance with their teaching assignment. d) Supervision shall be assigned by the principal on as equitable a basis as possible, in consultation with the Teachers and taking into account all Teachers’ preferences. Teachers shall be provided with a copy of the school’s supervision schedule no later than the fifth (5th) instructional day. e) No later than June 15th of each year, each Principal shall create a supervision schedule. Any school based concerns regarding the 80 minute maxima as described in a) above that cannot be resolved at the school level, shall be forwarded to the District Staffing Committee for review. f) The District Staffing Committee will, no later than May 15 of each year, develop supervision guidelines for schools to implement for the following September.

Supervision Time. Supervision time shall be defined as the time a teacher is assigned to supervise students outside the Instructional Day as defined in Article 15.07 (f). The School Authority shall implement the following provisions respecting supervision schedules (i) Effective upon the first instructional day following ratification, the maxima of supervision time for elementary teachers will be 80 minutes within each period of five instructional days. Scheduled supervision duties include, but are not limited to, yard duty, hall duty, bus duty and lunchroom duty. In the event that there are fewer than five (5) instructional days in a week, the amount of required supervision time will be adjusted accordingly. (ii) Notwithstanding the above, no teacher shall be required to perform supervision duties in excess of the maximum amount of supervision duties that the teacher was required to perform during the 2007-2008 school year unless the teacher's assignment or worksite is modified or changed. In the event of such modification or change, the teacher's supervision time shall be equal to the supervision time required of other teachers in the same school who perform equivalent assignments. If there is no such modification or change, each teacher shall continue to be required to perform the same amount of supervision duties as performed during the 2007-2008 school year so long as the amount of such supervision time is less than the amount of supervision time otherwise provided for in this agreement. (iii) Part-time teachers shall have supervision time assigned on a pro-rata basis. (iv) The In-School Staffing Committee will, no later than May 15 of each year, develop supervision guidelines for schools to implement for the following September. By June 1 of each year, the principal shall create and submit a proposed supervision schedule for the following school year to the In-School Staffing Committee for review. The Committee shall ensure the schedule complies with the requirements of the collective agreement and may revise the schedule where it deems it appropriate to do so. The In-School Staffing Committee shall be composed of two representative of the Union and the Principal and or/designate.

(c) The maxima of supervision minutes for elementary teachers will be 80 minutes within each period of five instructional days. (d) The Board shall make every reasonable effort to allocate supervision duties fairly and equitably within each school.
