STATUTORY PREGNANCY LEAVE. 18.01 Maternity leaves shall be in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. 18.02 Upon application in writing a pregnant employee who started employment with the Board at least thirteen weeks before the expected birth date is entitled to a leave of absence without pay in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. 18.03 The Board shall not terminate the employment of or lay off any Member who is entitled to a leave of absence under this Article. 18.04 a) A member may begin a pregnancy leave no earlier than seventeen (17) weeks before the expected birth date.
