STEWARDS AND UNION OFFICERS. A Xxxxxxx shall be appointed through the Business Manager or Acting Business Manager of the Local Union. A Xxxxxxx will be appointed by the Business Manager or Acting Business Manager of the Local Union. Written notification of this appointment will be given within twenty-four (24) hours to the Employer. The Xxxxxxx will represent all the Employees working therein and who fall within the scope of the Agreement. The Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against for carrying out his duties. Stewards shall be permitted to perform duties during regular working hours, but the Union acknowledges that Stewards have regular duties to perform and are accountable for the same quantity and quality of work as any other Employee. They may have leave of their regular duties to perform Union duties only with the permission of their immediate supervisor with the understanding that a privilege so granted will not be abused. The Business Manager or Acting Business Manager of the Union shall have access to all work on application to the Employer or his representative. Such Business Manager or Acting Business Manager may discuss with the Xxxxxxx any matters that are in dispute with respect to the particular work. This clause shall not be interpreted as a licence to discuss general Union business but reasonable opportunity or provisions to discuss Union business shall be given the Employee on request and on his own time. The Business Managers or Acting Business Managers must carry accident insurance to cover them in the event of an accident on jobs or projects that they have access to in the course of their duties. COMBINED COMMERCIAL AGREEMENT LOCAL APPENDIX Employees who are required by the Employer to work out of the home office area from where they cannot return daily shall be paid their full travelling or room and board expenses. Time consumed in travelling at the beginning and at the end of the project shall be paid at the rate of single time. No more than eight (8) hours travelling time shall be paid for in any twenty-four (24) hour period. In the event of the job extending for a prolonged period of time, transportation to the home office or the Employee's home, whichever is closer, is to be provided on the following basis: Jobs within one hundred (100) miles of home office, once every two weeks. Jobs over one hundred (100) miles from the home office, but within the Province of New Brunswick, once every month. Jobs outside the Province of New Brunswick, once every six (6) months. These interim trips will be taken outside the regular working hours and will not be paid for by the Employer. Instead of paying full travelling or room and board expenses, the Employer can, on Commercial and Domestic Projects, choose to pay an allowance of per hour worked for a maximum of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week. When an Employee is asked to work ten miles beyond the Greater area Riverview, and Dieppe) from where he will return daily, he shall receive his transportation in one of the following ways: (a) Where transportation is supplied by the Employer, the men shall leave for the job site thirty

STEWARDS AND UNION OFFICERS. A Xxxxxxx 6.01 The Employer recognizes the right of the Union to appoint, or otherwise select, from among employees who have completed their probationary period and who are covered by this Agreement, three (3) Stewards, one of whom shall be appointed through a Retirement Lodge employee, whose responsibility it shall be to assist employees in preparing and presenting grievances, in accordance with the Business Manager or Acting Business Manager Grievance Procedure. It is understood that wherever possible, the Stewards will be selected from different shifts.
6.02 The Union Negotiating Committee will consist of three (3) members of the Local Union. A Xxxxxxx will be appointed by Bargaining Unit, one (1) from the Business Manager or Acting Business Manager Nursing Home, one (1) from the Retirement Lodge, and the Bargaining Unit President.
6.03 The Union undertakes to notify the Employer of the Local Union. Written notification of this appointment will be given within twenty-four (24) hours to the Employer. The Xxxxxxx will represent all the Employees working therein and who fall within the scope names of the Stewards and Union Officers immediately when such an appointment or any replacement is made.
6.04 The Employer agrees that Stewards shall not be hindered, coerced, restrained or interfered with in any way in the performance of their duties, while investigating disputes, and presenting adjustments, as provided for in this Agreement. The Union understands and agrees that each Xxxxxxx is employed to perform full-time work for the Employer and that he shall not leave his work during working hours, except to perform his duties under this Agreement, and provided the Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against for carrying out leave work where his dutiesabsence might, detrimentally, affect the safe and efficient operation of the facility. Stewards Therefore, no Xxxxxxx shall be permitted to perform duties during regular working hours, but the Union acknowledges that Stewards have regular duties to perform and are accountable for the same quantity and quality of leave his work as any other Employee. They may have leave of their regular duties to perform Union duties only with without obtaining the permission of their immediate supervisor with the understanding that a privilege so granted will not be abused. The Business Manager or Acting Business Manager of the Union shall have access to all work on application to the Employer or his representative. Such Business Manager or Acting Business Manager may discuss with the Xxxxxxx any matters that are in dispute with respect to the particular work. This clause supervisor, whose permission shall not be interpreted as a licence to discuss general Union business but unreasonably denied.
6.05 Provided such employees give reasonable opportunity or provisions to discuss Union business shall be given notice, where possible, and provided the Employee on request orderly and on his own time. The Business Managers or Acting Business Managers must carry accident insurance to cover them in safe operation of the event of an accident on jobs or projects that they have access to in the course of their duties. COMBINED COMMERCIAL AGREEMENT LOCAL APPENDIX Employees who are required by facility is not unreasonably affected, the Employer to work out of the home office area from where they cannot return daily shall be paid their full travelling compensate Stewards or room and board expenses. Time consumed in travelling at the beginning and at the end of the project shall be paid Union Officers, at the rate of single time. No more than eight (8) hours travelling pay they would have received under normal circumstances, for time spent on meetings with the Employer, or in the investigation of grievances, etc., during working hours.
6.06 Either party may initiate a request for a meeting and such a meeting shall be paid for in any twenty-four (24) hour period. In held at a time and place fixed by mutual agreement.
6.07 The Union shall have the event right to have the assistance of a designated representative of the job extending for a prolonged period Canadian Union of time, transportation to the home office Public Employees when dealing or the Employee's home, whichever is closer, is to be provided on the following basis: Jobs within one hundred (100) miles of home office, once every two weeks. Jobs over one hundred (100) miles from the home office, but within the Province of New Brunswick, once every month. Jobs outside the Province of New Brunswick, once every six (6) months. These interim trips will be taken outside the regular working hours and will not be paid for by negotiating with the Employer. Instead Such representative shall have reasonable access to the Employer's premises, upon request, in order to investigate and assist in the settlement of paying full travelling or room a grievance, provided such investigation is reasonable and board expenses, is taken with discretion and provided it does not interfere with the efficient operation of the facilities.
6.08 The Employer canshall make available to the Union, on Commercial and Domestic Projectsrequest, choose information relating to pay an allowance of per hour worked for a maximum of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week. When an Employee is asked to work ten miles beyond the Greater area Riverviewthis Agreement, and Dieppe) from where he will return daily, he shall receive his transportation in one of the following ways:
(a) Where transportation is supplied required by the EmployerUnion, such as job descriptions, positions in the men shall leave for the bargaining unit, job site thirtyclassifications, wage rates and welfare plans.
