Common use of STUDENT ADVISEMENT Clause in Contracts

STUDENT ADVISEMENT. 1. During the fiscal year (September 1, 2014 - August 31, 2015) the College may, at its discretion, employ faculty to assist department chairs with general student course advisement including course selection advisement and/or in association with the student course selection, scheduling and/or registration process. Faculty wishing to be considered for employment as student advisors shall so inform their department chairs in writing on forms provided by the College for this purpose. 2. Employment as a student advisor shall be upon the recommendation of the appropriate department chair and approved by the division xxxx. Such employment shall be on a semester-by-semester basis and non-reappointment shall not be subject to review under the grievance machinery of the Agreement. 3. Faculty employed on a part-time basis as student advisors for 2014/2015 shall be compensated at a rate of $39.71 per hour with payment based on approved timesheets submitted. 4. All services rendered as a student advisor shall be in addition to the availability requirement stipulated in Article VII, Section K hereof. 5. Effective September 1, 2015 Student Advisement is no longer a function of this agreement.
