Common use of Student Staff members Clause in Contracts

Student Staff members. It is recognized by the Alliance that as a matter of policy the University is committed to provide work opportunities for the students who, by definition, are excluded from the bargaining unit. Nothing contained in this Agreement shall be construed to impinge upon the above policy. However, in no case shall a staff member covered by this Agreement be laid off or take a reduction in pay as a result of student employment in that part of the bargaining unit in which the lay off or reduction occurred.
