Description of Bargaining Unit. This Agreement shall be applicable for all Department of Public Safety employees listed in Appendix A of this Agreement excluding from the foregoing all office and clerical employees, students, temporary, executive, supervisory employees and all others not specifically included in Appendix A.

Description of Bargaining Unit. 1.2.1 The bargaining unit represented by the CCE/AFT is as contained in Appendix A of this Agreement. The represented titles and classifications shall also be listed in the Palomar College Human Resource Services website at xxxx://xxx.xxxxxxx.xxx/hr/. The website list shall be updated and kept current. Changes after ratification of this Agreement shall include notations regarding the date a classification is established, modified or removed.
1.2.2 The parties will meet annually to review and verify the accuracy of the website list, and to incorporate the necessary changes into Appendix A. Appendix A in the online version of this Agreement will subsequently be updated with the mutual agreement of the parties. The CCE/AFT may distribute the revised appendix to its unit members as needed.
1.2.3 The allocation of new classifications/reclassifications into the bargaining unit or from the bargaining unit into management, supervisory, and/or confidential status shall be mutually agreed upon or, in the absence of an agreement, in accordance with PERB regulations. After notice to CCE/AFT of the proposed changes to the bargaining unit, the CCE/AFT shall have at least ten (10) business days to prepare for the necessary meeting(s) thereon.
Description of Bargaining Unit. UNIT: All instructional personnel excluding education paraprofessionals, whether under contract, on approved leave or on a per diem hourly or class rate basis, employed or who becomes employed by the Board. INCLUDED: Instructional personnel as defined in F.S. 1012-01 (2a-d). Instructional personnel is defined as any staff member whose function includes the provision of direct instructional services to students. Instructional personnel also includes those whose function provides direct support in the learning process of students. EXCLUDED: Superintendents, assistant superintendents, District directors, supervisors, administrative assistants, directors, district level coordinators, assistant directors, principals, assistant principals, directors of student activities, deans, substitutes, education paraprofessionals, individuals who receive a supplement and are not otherwise employed as an instructional staff member with the District, and other professionals assigned to the Superintendent’s staff. One of the goals of the Hernando County School Board is to retain teachers. The creation of this district mentoring initiative is intended to provide support and guidance to teachers who are new to the profession as well as those who might need extra assistance in the classroom. Beginning teachers will be placed in a three-year induction program. Experienced teachers who are new to Hernando County will also be considered Tier One but principals will have flexibility in assigning mentors to these individuals. All Tier One teachers will attend a multi-day institute during the week before pre-school. The focus of the institute will be to provide assistance to new teachers in preparation for the first few weeks of school. Topics to be included in the training will focus on classroom management, classroom organization, curriculum, technology, legal and ethical issues, and an introduction to the Professional Educator Competencies (PEC) for alternative certification candidates (non-education majors). It will also include introductions to district staff members and an overview of our policies.
