Common use of Substantial Completion of Sections or Parts of the Works Clause in Contracts

Substantial Completion of Sections or Parts of the Works. In accordance with the procedure in article 45 and on the same conditions as provided therein, the Contractor may request the Engineer to issue, and the Engineer may issue, a Certificate of Substantial Completion in respect of any Section or part of the Works which has been substantially completed and has satisfactorily passed any tests on completion prescribed by the Contract, if: a) a separate time for completion is provided in the Contract in respect of such Section or part of the Works; b) such Section or part of the Works has been completed to the satisfaction of the Engineer and is required by the Contracting Authority for his occupation or use.
