Substitute for Academic Employees. When qualified substitutes are available, a substitute for an academic employee will be hired when deemed necessary by management, but always, when possible, when the academic employee will be absent for a period of time exceeding one (1) calendar week. Substitutes will be paid at an appropriate rate dependent upon load.
