SUBSTITUTES FOR TEACHERS. ESPs who are certified as a substitute teacher may internally substitute for a certified employee and receive the first call substitute teacher rate of pay or his/her regular rate of pay, whichever is higher. No ESP shall be required to provide substitute service. Such ESP may be requested to substitute for a teacher in his/her building in an emergency situation or when other substitutes are unattainable.
