Common use of Suspension/Discharge Clause in Contracts

Suspension/Discharge. If an employee is disciplined, suspended or discharged, he/she shall be informed as soon as reasonably possible, in writing, of the reason for such discipline, suspension or discharge, and a copy shall be sent by email to the President, Union Vice President and/or his/her designate. If the Union feels that a seniority employee has been unjustly disciplined, suspended or discharged, it shall deliver a grievance within ten (10) days of receiving the written reasons for such discipline, suspension or discharge and the grievance shall be taken up at Step 2 of the grievance procedure.
