Teachers Not Eligible¹ for FMLA Leave. Teachers who are not FMLA-eligible shall be entitled to take up to a thirty (30) work day leave due to the birth of a child, or the placement of a child for adoption or xxxxxx care. If paid sick leave is available, it must be applied to the first thirty (30) work days of absence and any subsequent period of absence that is substantiated by medical certification. Upon a return from this leave, the teacher shall be entitled to return to his or her prior position or to an “equivalent” job.
