Common use of Teaching-out-of-District Leave Clause in Contracts

Teaching-out-of-District Leave. Any teacher may receive up to one (1) year leave for the purpose of teaching outside the continental limits of the United States or in a recognized exchange teacher program or in an overseas or domestic Peace Corps assignment. Full credit shall be given for time spent in these programs. In the event the Board is notified in advance that the teaching assignment is a two-year assignment, the Board shall, at the request of the teacher, extend the leave for one year; all other requests for extensions shall be granted at the discretion of the Board.
