Common use of Team and Shared Teaching Clause in Contracts

Team and Shared Teaching. Given the VIU commitment to high quality instruction, effective innovations in course delivery and pedagogy are encouraged. Notwithstanding existing departmental workload agreements, the following definitions are intended to guide departments, Deans, and the VIUFA in calculating acceptable instructional workloads: “Team teaching” describes courses delivered by teams of two or more faculty, in which faculty members each prepare, attend, deliver, and evaluate all parts of the course. For team teaching, each faculty member is credited with “full” workload credit for the course.
