Temporary Light Duty Policy Statement. The purpose of this temporary light duty program is to minimize the losses of productive time, while at the same time reintroducing the employee to work sooner to prevent deterioration of skills, facilitate recovery and reduce income loss. Light duty assignments will be structured so that employees are not placed in a duty status that would aggravate or reincur an injury or illness. Light duty assignments are to be limited to temporary periods and are not to be used to create a permanent light duty assignment.
