Holidays/Vacations. A. Holidays for twelve (12) month seniority employees include: The Day before New Year’s Day, New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Friday before Labor Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Day before Christmas, and Christmas Day.
B. Holidays for ten (10) month seniority employees include: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Labor Day (if after school starts), Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
C. To be eligible for holiday pay the employee must have worked the last scheduled work day prior to the holiday and the first scheduled work day following the holiday. Illness on either day must be verified by a doctor’s certificate of illness. Employees that are absent for illness the day before or after a holiday and are out of paid sick leave will not receive holiday pay.
D. Should a holiday fall on a Saturday or Sunday, an employee and the supervisor will mutually agree on an alternate day for the holiday schedule.
E. Should a holiday fall on a scheduled day of school, the employee shall work and an alternate day shall be scheduled as a holiday.
F. Holiday pay shall be based on the regular number of hours the employee works per day and the regular pay rate.
G. Employees on a layoff, unpaid leave, etc. shall not receive holiday pay.
H. Twelve (12) month employees shall be granted paid vacation as follows:
I. In the event of termination of employment, the accrued vacation earned will be prorated on a twelve (12) month basis.
J. All vacation time shall be taken between July 1 and June 30. Vacation requests must be submitted at least two (2) weeks in advance for administrative approval.
K. The number of employees on vacation at the same time shall be determined administratively considering the district’s needs and seniority.
L. When a holiday is observed by the Employer during a scheduled employee vacation, the vacation will be extended one (1) day.
M. Unused vacation days shall not accumulate from year to year, nor can a vacation day be waived for extra work and pay.
N. Vacation pay shall be based on the regular number of hours the employee works per day at the regular rate of pay.
Holidays/Vacations a. Holidays shall be observed in accordance with the light duty assignment work hours and workweek. That is, if an employee is assigned to work hours in a department, division, or operating unit where employees in that work unit take the holiday off, so shall the light duty employee. If the employee is assigned to work hours on a work holiday, so shall the light duty employee. Compensation for holidays shall be in accordance with applicable Memorandum of Understanding or the Personnel Rules and Regulations.
b. Employees assigned to light duty shall take their assigned (selected) vacation as normally scheduled. Vacations shall cover the same number of duty and calendar days as would have been enjoyed by the employee if they had remained on full duty. Employees may reschedule their assigned (selected) vacation with the approval of the Police Chief, provided the rescheduling does not result in increased costs or lost time to the City for relief personnel to cover the rescheduled vacation.

(c) When a holiday is observed by the Employer during a bargaining unit member's scheduled vacation, the holiday will not be considered as a vacation day. Any bus driver employee in the Transportation classification working a bid run during the summer months, shall receive one (1) paid holiday for July 4t h
(d) If holiday falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the Friday before or the Monday after shall be observed as the holiday, as determined by the Employer, unless otherwise required by law.
(e) In order to receive holiday pay, a bargaining unit member must work their entire shift before the holiday and their entire shift the first regularly scheduled work day after the holiday. The only exception will be illness verified by a doctor's statement or if the absence is approved in writing by the Superintendent or Superintendent’s designee.
Holidays/Vacations. 10.1 Paid holidays shall be: Memorial Day Presidents’ Day Independence Day Thanksgiving Day Labor Day Day following Thanksgiving Veterans’ Day Christmas Day M.L.K. Jr. Day New Year’s Day
10.2 Holiday pay shall be paid to an employee who is regularly scheduled to work the day prior to the holiday or the day after the holiday. If a holiday falls on a weekend day, the District shall designate either the Friday prior to the holiday or the Monday after the holiday as the paid holiday. Notwithstanding the above, no less than eight (8) paid holidays will be granted for 9-, 10-, and 11-month employees, and no less than ten (10) paid holidays will be granted for 12-month employees.
10.3 Vacation time earned by employees working twelve (12) full months in the bargaining unit shall be granted as indicated:
A 1 2 day vacation per full month worked during the first year of employment.
B. 1 day vacation per full month worked during years 2 through 9 of continuous employment.
C. 1-1 2 days’ vacation per full month worked during the tenth and ensuing years of continuous employment.

Holidays/Vacations. Truck drivers covered hereunder are entitled to the same holidays and vacations as set forth in the Basic Agreement, with the qualifying language thereto. Holidays and vacations (or other paid days off, such as funeral leave, jury duty, etc.) shall be paid at a flat daily rate equal to 9.4 times the hourly rate. To qualify for a vacation a driver must have worked 180 days in the preceding calendar year. The weekly rate for vacation purposes shall be determined by multiplying five (5) times the daily rate.
