Common use of Tenure-track Members Clause in Contracts

Tenure-track Members. The department head or equivalent shall meet with new members within six months of the member’s appointment, and subsequently, as appropriate. The purpose of these meetings shall be to hold a formative discussion regarding performance of duties, to inform the member of the due processes and conditions set out in the Collective Agreement and Criteria Documents for performance review and career decisions, and to provide advice. The Xxxx shall also meet yearly with tenure-track academic staff members to provide mentoring. The purpose of the meeting is to recognize achievements of the member, review the member’s performance, and provide feedback on the member’s progress towards promotion and/or tenure. The department head or equivalent will also be present at this meeting. The academic staff member has the right to be accompanied by a departmental colleague or Association representative.
