Common use of Term and Extensions Clause in Contracts

Term and Extensions. This Agreement shall be effective as of the Effective Date and, unless it is terminated earlier pursuant to its terms, shall continue in effect until December 31, 2016, with the possibility for a one-year extension as mutually agreed to by the City and the Franchisee. Franchisee shall give ninety (90) days written notice to the City prior to the expiration of the term to request an extension. The City in its sole discretion may decide to approve or decline the extension, or request an amendment of this Agreement prior to such extension.
