Common use of Termination and Renewal Clause in Contracts

Termination and Renewal. 28.01 This Agreement shall become effective as of the 1st day of July, 2013, and shall continue in effect until 30th day of June, 2016, at which time it shall be automatically renewed unless either party gives notice to the other not more than ninety (90) days prior to the expiry date of its desire to enter into negotiations for the revisions or renewal of all or any part of this Agreement and both parties shall thereupon enter into negotiations in good faith and make every reasonable effort to secure a renewal. In the event that negotiations for the renewal of this Agreement continue past the expiry date, the provisions of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect until such a renewal is effected or until the Conciliation procedures under the Ontario Labour Relations Act have been exhausted.

The parties to this Agreement agree to sign the Collective Agreement within forty- five (45) days of the Union’s ratification vote.
