Third-Party Archiving Services. Licensor and Licensee acknowledge that either party may engage the services of third-party trusted archives and/or participate in collaborative archiving endeavors to exercise Licensee’s rights under this section of the Agreement. Licensor agrees to cooperate with such archiving entities and/or initiatives as reasonably necessary to make the Licensed Materials available for archiving purposes. Licensee and/or Participating Institutions may perpetually use a third-party trusted system or collaborative archive to access or store the Licensed Materials, so long as Licensee’s and Participating Institutions’ use is under the same terms as this Agreement.

Third-Party Archiving Services. As an archive serving the scholarly community, Licensor provides long term preservation of the JSTOR Archive collections by pursuing best practices and standards in the creation and maintenance of the JSTOR Platform and establishing mirror sites and multiple back up files for all of the materials in the JSTOR Platform, and for those items in JSTOR Archive collections that have print editions, establishing a dedicated repository at a participating institution to house and preserve the print copies under archival-quality conditions. With the support of its participating institutions, Licensor is also developing an endowment to ensure the long term operating viability of the JSTOR Platform. Should Licensee or a Participating Institution elect to terminate access to a JSTOR Archive collection, it may resume access to that collection and all content subsequently added to that collection at any time in the future through payment of an annual fee.

Publisher currently provides open, free electronic access to back issues of Material, starting 12 months after publication of a Material issues. Should the Participating Member cancel or fail to renew the Agreement, the Participating Member will continue to have access to those Material journals from the purchased Publisher Material journals published during the agreement period in question. Publisher makes the commitment to enable their Institutional members to have perpetual access to the Material journal content subscribed to. The American Association for Cancer Research (Publisher), is committed to the preservation of its Materials and is a participating member of LOCKSS. This ensures that the Materials will be preserved and permanently accessible for future generations to use and reference.

Members may perpetually use the LOCKSS system to archive and restore the Licensed Property, so long as Members’ use is otherwise consistent with this License. ACP further acknowledges and agrees that, for the purpose of repairing damage to, or loss of, another LOCKSS system's copy of the Licensed Property, a Member may make the Licensed Property available to that other LOCKSS system, provided that the other LOCKSS system had previously proven to the Member system that it had the same Licensed Property.
