Common use of Time for Grievance Representatives Clause in Contracts

Time for Grievance Representatives. A grievant and the grievant's grievance representative shall be allowed time off from regular duties for attendance at meetings scheduled under the grievance procedure, with prior approval of the respective supervisor, without loss of pay or benefits. Grievance representatives may be allowed time off their regular shift, as approved by the Sheriff or the Sheriff's designee, to conduct an investigation of a grievance where it might be deemed necessary. Requests for time off to investigate must be made prior to initiating investigation.
