The Parties recognize that climate change poses significant risks to communities, infrastructure, the economy, the environment and human health, with potential consequences for international trade, and that efforts are required to build resilience. The Parties also reaffirm the principles and objectives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement and their commitments under the respective instruments.
