Common use of Training Leave Clause in Contracts

Training Leave. Training Leave is granted when the department either requires or allows the employee time off to attend training events that are of either a mandatory or beneficial nature to the Department. Training Leave is granted at the discretion of the Training Chief. Training Leave does not occupy a calendar leave slot. Educational Opportunity Leave. Educational Opportunity Leave is available when the time off and subsequent vacancy created by the requesting employee does not cause overtime. Educational Opportunity Leave replaces whatever leave that was used to attend training if no overtime was incurred during the time used for training.
