In the event that an employee is upgraded or promoted to a higher classification pay scale, she/he shall be placed on the Step immediately above the Step that most closely reflects the employee's wage rate at the date of the promotion or upgrade. In no event will the employee be paid less than her/his pay rate at promotion or upgrade.
