Common use of Union Health and Safety Representative Clause in Contracts

Union Health and Safety Representative. 13.09 Leave of absence will be granted for one (1) Union Health and Safety Representative (as selected by the Union within either bargaining unit to represent all members of the Union) on the understanding that upon returning to work s/he will be reinstated and offered required training in her/his previous position or such other position s/he would have occupied had s/he not been on leave of absence, provided that s/he is qualified. In the event that the return of the Union officer causes displacement of other employees, the Employer will not be required to provide notice, maintenance of wages, or other payments to the displaced employee.
