Common use of Use of Seniority in RIF Clause in Contracts

Use of Seniority in RIF. If the necessary reductions cannot be made at school(s) identified for reduction in force as provided in 26.2.1 or 26.2.2, then the reduction in classification(s) and at school(s) identified for reduction in force shall be determined by the Superintendent who will identify administrator’s to be laid off. If the administrator to be laid off is a Vice Principal (who does not have an unsatisfactory evaluation or written admonition in the current administrative assignment) then the Vice Principal may resign or choose to displace a less senior ▇▇▇▇ who will be laid off. In the event the Vice Principal declines to exercise such options, he/she shall be laid off. Seniority based on total years with the District as an administrator will only be used in determining whether the ▇▇▇▇ is less senior than the Vice Principal. If the Vice Principal and ▇▇▇▇ have the same District administrative experience then total administrative experience shall be the tie-breaker. If the tie cannot be broken based on total administrative experience then total District experience as an administrator and a teacher shall be the tie breaker. If the above tie breakers do not break the tie then the tie will be broken by flipping a coin.
