Common use of USW Membership Clause in Contracts

USW Membership. 1. PEF and USW agree that as a condition of employment, all employees presently within the bargaining unit shall remain members of USW and all new employees within the bargaining unit shall become members of USW within thirty (30) days after commencing employment. All employees who become members of USW shall remain members during the life of this Agreement. 2. Upon notification from USW to PEF that an employee has failed to comply with paragraph (A) above, said employee shall be terminated within five (5) working days after receipt of such notification. Refusal to join USW is just and reasonable cause for termination of employment.
