Verification and Maintenance Practices. 1.3.1. Customers shall perform routine verifications of protection systems on a scheduled basis in accordance with applicable reliability standards. The maximum verification interval is four years for most 115-kV elements, most transformer stations, and certain 230-kV elements and two years for all other high- voltage elements. All newly commissioned protection systems shall be verified within six months of the initial in-service date of the system.
