Common use of Volunteers Clause in Contracts

Volunteers. It is agreed that Volunteers have a role in this retirement community and are an important link to the residents being served. It is understood that members of the immediate family of residents shall not be considered Volunteers for the purposes of this Article. It is further agreed that Volunteers engaged by the Employer will be supernumerary to established positions in the bargaining unit, and that the use of Volunteers engaged by the Employer will not result in the lay-off or reduction of hours of employees in the bargaining unit; nor will Volunteers engaged by the Employer be used to fill established positions within the bargaining unit.
