Common use of Weight Clause in Contracts

Weight. To be final at time and place of shipment per certificate(s) issued by the Independent Surveyor at Seller’s option and account, based on figures ascertained by official shore scales. In case official shore scale is not available at loading terminal, custom’s Draft Survey figures will be final. Buyer has the option, at its expense and for its own guidance, to request for joint weight control, advising the Seller in due time the name of the Independent Surveyor it is appointing (as per clause 3).
