The Work Hours/Work Day clause defines the standard working hours and days that employees are expected to be present and perform their duties. Typically, this clause specifies the start and end times of the workday, the number of hours constituting a full workday or workweek, and may outline any exceptions such as overtime or flexible scheduling. By clearly establishing when work is to be performed, this clause helps ensure mutual understanding between employer and employee, reducing disputes over attendance and compensation.
Work Hours/Work Day. 1. The work hours for unit members shall be seven (7) hours and thirty (30) minutes, inclusive of a minimum of forty (40) minute duty-free lunch plus a five (5) minute passing time to occur at the end of lunch. 2. The normal workday shall begin thirty (30) minutes before the pupil instructional day and shall end thirty (30) minutes following the end of the pupil instructional day. With the exception of scheduled meetings or assigned supervision duties, the time before and after school is a designated teacher preparation time. 3. Unit members shall be allowed to leave the work site following the safe dismissal of students on the workday preceding winter break. 4. Unit members shall be required to attend three (3) nighttime school functions per year. Unit members shall not be required to remain later than 9:00 PM. All K-5 teachers (including K-5 specialty teachers) shall attend one (1) Back to School Night, one (1) Open House Night, and at least one (1) other evening event. All 6-8 teachers (including 6-8 specialty teachers) shall attend one (1) Back to School Night, one (1) middle school dance, and at least one (1) other evening event. (See G3 for part-time certificated requirements.) Nighttime school functions for all grades may include but are not limited to the following: Back to School Night, Open House, Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) performances, dances, promotion, etc. 5. One (1) day per week, students shall be dismissed 90 minutes prior to normally scheduled dismissal. Unit members shall utilize the remainder of the workday onsite. Unit members will use minimum days for planning and preparation. The District will use 50 minutes of each minimum day at the discretion of the Superintendent/Designee. By mutual agreement, District meeting times may be extended to up to 100 minutes per session.
Work Hours/Work Day. WORK WEEK A. Employees shall have regular work hours. 1. A typical regular workday shall consist of eight (8) hours. 2. A typical regular work week shall consist of five (5) days. B. If the College shall determine that, based on the objective needs of the College, an adjustment of the regularly scheduled hours is required, the College shall provide thirty (30) calendar days' prior notice for permanent adjustments and fourteen (14) calendar days' prior notice for an adjustment of up to two (2) hours to the beginning or ending of the work day. The notice shall be made to the employee and the appropriate employee representative of the bargaining unit. C. The employee representative, upon receipt of notification, may request a Management/Labor Meeting prior to implementation.
Work Hours/Work Day. A. Members shall work an eight (8) hour day inclusive of a one (1) hour lunch from September to June. B. Members shall either work a seven (7) hour day inclusive of a one-half (1/2) hour lunch or a seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour day inclusive of a one (1) hour lunch during the months of July and August. At the discretion of the individual administrator, summer hours will be either 7:00 a.m., to 2:00 p.m., or 8:00 a.m., to 3:00 p.m., with the understanding that the office will be covered by at least one member until 3:00 p.m. C. Work Hours/Work Day. The normal full-time teacher work day shall be no more than 7 and ¼ hours inclusive of planning/conference time and at least a 30 consecutive minute duty free lunch and will be in direct instructional contact with student for six hours and 45 minutes except for conference/planning time as specified in Article XVII.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Standard Work Week (a) Except as provided below, the standard work week for Full-time Employees shall normally consist of 35 hours per week, which shall normally consist of 5 equal Shifts of 7 hours. (b) The standard work week for certain Full-time Employees, including but not limited to, technical Employees, shall normally consist of 37.5 hours per week, which shall normally consist of 5 equal Shifts of 7.5 hours.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Work Hours Except in emergencies, the standard work week of full-time unit employees shall normally consist of five (5) days of eight (8) hours each, exclusive of lunch hour. Each employee shall be assigned regular starting and ending times, which shall not be changed without prior notice. Should an employee be required to work during his/her lunch hour, the length of such interruption shall be counted as time worked unless other arrangements are made with his/her supervisor.

  • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (b) (applicable to part-time employees only) The normal or standard work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day and the normal or standard full- time work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one- half (37½) hours per week except in those hospitals where agreements already provide a normal or standard work day of less than seven and one-half hours and a normal or standard full-time work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.
