WORKPLACE INJURY BENEFITS. The parties agree to discuss and implement a program to accommodate disabled employees through the Labour Management Committee meetings in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and Ontario Human Rights Code. 27.01 Any employee injured on the job requiring the attention of a medical doctor, shall be paid for the balance of his shift, on which the injury occurred, and the Company shall provide transportation to the hospital, or Doctor’s office. If the employee is incapable of handling his usual transportation, the Company will provide transportation to his home. 27.02 The parties agree to work cooperatively in dealing with employees who have disabilities due to work place injuries. In the duty to accommodate both parties will ensure that representatives from the Company and the Union are available to meet with and assist in the injured worker’s return to work, including modified duties. 27.03 The Company agrees to provide to the Union access to the employer’s report of injury and any other related correspondence. 27.04 Following two (2) calendar weeks from the date of submission of the work injury report and upon the request of the employee, the Company agrees to advance funds in the equivalent to the prevailing Workers’ Compensation Board weekly maximum. This will be conditional upon the employee signing an agreement to repay in full.
